Cadet Cadre

Attention Cadets,
Applications to serve on cadre for the 2019 Encampment are now being accepted! Applicants will be invited to Camp San Luis Obispo from 17-19 May to demonstrate their aptitude in areas such as drill, uniform wear, customs and courtesies, knowledge of pertinent cadet program manuals, and written and oral communication.


• Be a current CAP Cadet in good standing.
• Previously attended Encampment as a student.
• Be able to attend Cadre Selection Exercise (CSX) 17-19 May 2019.
• Familiar with the Encampment Learning Phases as outlined in CAWGP 60-70.
• Understand Encampment related documents such as: CAPR 60-1, CAPP 60-70, and CAPP 60-71.

Please note cadre applicants not able to attend CSX will not be able to be evaluated using the same criteria; therefore, will be considered after applicants attending CSX.
Serving on Cadre is an excellent way to apply skill sets you may have obtained from previous experiences and develop new ones. We encourage all cadets to review the available positions below and identify which position to go for!

Available positions include:

  • Administration Officer/NCO
  • Deputy Director of Mess
  • Mess Officer/NCO 
  • Logistics Officer/NCO
  • Public Affairs Officer/NCO 
  • Curriculum & Plans Officer/NCO
  • Flight Commander 
  • ATS Flight Commander 
  • First Sergeant 
  • Flight Sergeant 
The number of cadre per position will vary based on student registration numbers. 
Applicants who are selected for Encampment Cadre positions must  attend Encampment scheduled for 6-13 July, as well as Pre-Encampment beginning on Wednesday, 03 July.

You will be expected to upload the following items: Cover letter (addressing roles and responsibilities of position and why you are the best person for the job), resume, F31, F160, F161, F163 (only if under 18), Camp SLO Liability Waiver and DD1381.
The deadline for submitted applications is now: 2359hrs, Sunday, 28 April 2019.   
Your cadre application evaluation begins the moment you apply. Part of the  evaluation process includes your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Missing information on forms, including signatures will have a negative impact on your application. Remember the Core Value of Excellence and lead by example by completing your application as quickly as possible while also ensuring you pay close attention to detail!
